New Zealand A cricket side to tour England

11:58 am on 11 January 2014

A New Zealand A cricket side will travel to the United Kingdom in July for a six-week tour, highlighted by a one day tri-series against the England Lions and Sri Lanka A.

Following the tri-series, New Zealand will use a 10-day window to play European Associate Nations who have qualified for the 2015 World Cup.

Their opposition will be determined following the ICC World Cup qualifying tournament in New Zealand this month, with the results to dictate how many games New Zealand will play and where.

They will then return to England to play three-day matches against County teams Kent and Surrey, before heading back to New Zealand.

New Zealand Cricket Head of Operations Lindsay Crocker says it's been a number of years since a New Zealand A squad has toured England and believes it will provide excellent playing opportunities against several quality teams.

The New Zealand A squad is yet to be named.
