Coppins motocross future in limbo

6:42 pm on 1 September 2009

The Motueka motocross rider Josh Coppin's admits his future in the sport is in limbo after he failed to secure a contract with his Yamaha team for next year's MX1 world championship.

Because of budget cuts the Yamaha factory team couldnt afford two MX1 riders next season and Coppins feels because of his age he was the one cut.

32-year-old Coppins says he'd like to come home after 15 years as a professional but he's had some good offers from other teams and so is weighing up his options.

Coppins has finished second once and third twice in the MX1 world championship.... injury runing his best chance in 2007 when he had a comfortable lead.
