The National Rugby League club the Sydney Roosters say they had no option but to suspend Setaimata Sa after the 21-year old allegedly assaulted a police officer on Sunday night.
Sa will face court this month for refusing to leave the Coojee Bay hotel, and then assaulting a police officer with a gate while he was being arrested.
Roosters CEO Steve Noyce says Sa has apologised to him for adding another black mark to the clubs reputation.
