Upsets on first day of cricket World Cup qualifying

There have been upsets on the first day of the cricket World Cup qualifying tournament with the unfancied Papua New Guinea and Hong Kong both getting wins.

Papua New Guinea chased down Kenya's 249 for eight in New Plymouth, while Hong Kong defended 263 to beat Scotland in Queenstown.

The Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates, both had convincing wins to remain favourites to get the final two World Cup spots.
