Cama out of Las Vegas sevens

The New Zealand rugby sevens team will be without experienced playmaker Tomasi Cama for the Las Vegas round of the IRB series next week.

Cama suffered a hamstring injury in training.

Coach Gordon Tietjens says Cama is certainly the best halfback in the world in sevens and having him injured is a real concern, but at the same time they're building depth and he's sure Gillies Kaka will step up to that role.

There is one new player in the side, with 18-year-old Akira Ioane selected after performing for Auckland in the National tournament last weekend.

New Zealand, who lead the standings after three rounds, have never won in Las Vegas.
