Hawke's Bay United losses Premiership points for fielding ineligible player

The Hawke's Bay United football team have lost three competition points for fielding an ineligible player in the New Zealand Premiership match against Wanderers last weekend.

Midfielder Harry Edge appeared off the bench for Hawke's Bay in the 84th minute of the 3-1 win at North Harbour Stadium but was not eligible to play as, at the time of the match, the player's transfer had not been properly concluded.

Hawke's Bay United has been fined by New Zealand Football and the loss of 3 competition points means they drop from second to fifth on the Premiership table.

Wanderers remains at the foot of the table but the newly-awarded win takes the team's season tally from two points to five.
