New Zealand golfers qualify for Australian Amateur Champs

The Waikato golfer Denzel Ieremia was the leading New Zealand qualifier as 11 New Zealanders progressed to the Australian Amateur Championship in Adelaide.

Ieremia, a member of the national development squad, finished the two rounds on three under par in a share of sixth.

Ieremia was joined by Compton Pikari, Blair Riordan, Tae Koh, Sam An, Hayden Beard, Luke Toomey, Joshua Munn, Vaughan McCall, Brad Hayward and Ryan Chisnall as the New Zealand qualifiers.

Meanwhile in the women's division, three New Zealanders advanced to the match play phase of the Championship.

Former New Zealand Amateur Champion Munchin Keh was the best of them in a share of 25th place.

She was joined by Waikato reps Hanna Seifert and Chantelle Cassidy who finished right on the number to advance to the first round.
