Big Three in secret bid to take over ICC

12:26 pm on 19 January 2014

A story's emerged on the influential cricket website Cricinfo about a proposed takeover of the sport's governing body, the ICC, by India, Australia and England.

Cricinfo reports that the ICC is to consider a comprehensive structural overhaul that will effectively cede most executive decision-making to the three powerful countries.

The head of the New Zealand Cricket Players' Association Heath Mills says the proposal seems to have come out of the blue, and the power grab appears completely unacceptable.

Mills says they're keen to talk with New Zealand Cricket to discuss the report, which should raise red flags for everyone in the sport.
