West Brom and Everton draw in EPL

5:22 pm on 21 January 2014

West Bromwich Albion marked Spaniard Pepe Mel's first home game in charge by retrieving a one-goal deficit to draw 1-all with Everton in the English Premier League.

Mel, who picked Nicolas Anelka despite a club row with sponsors Zoopla over the former France striker's alleged anti-Semitic gesture in a match last month, watched his side go behind in the 41st minute.

West Brom got the equaliser in the 75th minute.

The draw lifted West Brom from 14th to 13th in the table while Everton stayed in sixth position, nine points adrift of leaders Arsenal with 16 games remaining.
