The Wellington Phoenix general manager David Dome would love to bring an English Premier League club to New Zealand next pre-season but says contrary to reports no fixtures have been confirmed.
Dome says the A-League club is always on the lookout for quality international opposition.
Dome says in the past they've brought out LA Galaxy and Boca Juniors, and we have noted the success Australia had last year in getting Premier League teams to play in Sydney and Melbourne.
He says over the past 18 months they've had some options presented to them and there have been on-going discussions with various parties, but it is a big step from discussions to confirmation.
Dome says if a suitable opportunity presents itself, and it works financially as well as from a team perspective they'll consider it.
