Home time for English cricket writers

11:16 am on 24 January 2014

Three English cricket writers are having to return home tomorrow after losing their right to cover the last four games of England's tour of Australia.

The Sun's cricket correspondent John Etheridge and two of his print media colleagues are having to leave Australia having exhausted their 90-day visas, so they'll miss Sunday's final one day international and three Twenty20 matches.

Etheridge says they're amazed that Cricket Australia organised 90-day visas for a 100-day tour.

Cricket officials had been confident of resolving the issue, but they've now been told by the Immigration Department the matter is closed.
