Lewis Hamilton has walked away from a heavy crash after putting in the first laps of Formula One's new turbo era in testing with Mercedes in Spain.
The 2008 world champion locked up at the end of the pit straight and careered into the tyre wall on just his 18th lap of the day.
Mercedes blamed a car failure for the crash and are investigating.
