The former Springbok lock Victor Matfield is set to make his return to rugby when the Bulls face the Stormers in a Super Rugby pre-season game in Polokwane this weekend.
The 36-year-old retired from rugby after the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand but recently announced that he'll return to play in this year's Super Rugby competition.
It appears that only some administrative issues at SARU could prevent him from returning to action this weekend.
Matfield was the Bulls' line-out coach in recent years and will use this year's Super Rugby tournament to try and convince Bok coach Heyneke Meyer that he's still good enough to play at international level.
