The Melbourne Heart have done the Wellington Phoenix a favour by beating Sydney FC 2-1 in Friday night's A-League football clash in Melbourne.
As the pressure begins to go on in the race for playoffs places, Sydney's loss to the bottom-placed Heart meant the New South Welshmen are only two points in front of the Phoenix, after Saturday night's 2-1 win by the Wellington side over visitors Adelaide at Eden Park.
The Phoenix's hopes were also boosted by a 1-1 draw in Perth between two sides above them, the Glory and the Melbourne Victory.
The Phoenix are now just a point off sixth-placed Adelaide with 10 games of the regular season remaining.
