Kiwi woman makes history in cricket umpiring

New Zealander Kathy Cross has become the first woman appointed to an International Cricket Council umpiring panel.

Cross joins the Associate and Affiliate panel, meaning she can be assigned to matches such as one day and Twenty20 internationals involving Associate and Affiliate Members, such as Scotland and the United Arab Emirates, who face off today in the final of the World Cup Qualifier at Lincoln Oval.
