France have held off a resurgent England to win their first match of this year's Six Nations rugby tournament, 26-24 at Stad de France in Paris.

The French scored a try within the first minute of the match through winger Yoann Huget who followed it up with a second 17 minutes later.

England's Mike Brown crossed before half-time, when the Les Bleus led 16-8.

A Luther Burrell try for England in the second half and two penalties to Owen Farrel gave the visitors the lead before Gael Fickou crossed for France in the 76th minute to steal the victory for the home side.
