Seattle Seahawks win first ever Superbowl

The Seattle Seahawks have won their first ever NFL Superbowl title with their much touted defence shutting down the Denver Broncos and their star quarterback Peyton Manning to win 43-8 in New Jersey.

Seattle, the NFL's top-ranked defensive side led 22-nil at halftime.

The comprehensive win began just 12 seconds into the contest with a two-point safety on a bad snap over Manning's head giving Seattle the quickest scoring play in Superbowl history.

The second-year quarterback Russell Wilson, leading the second youngest team ever to play in a Super Bowl, took the spotlight from Manning who's been voted the NFL's Most Valuable Player five times.

The Seattle linebacker Malcolm Smith was named the game's Most Valuable player.
