Kevin Pietersen's cricket career with England is over, having been told he's no longer in their plans.
The managing director of the England and Wales Cricket Board Paul Downton says the time is right to rebuild not only the team but also the team ethic, and 33-year-old Pietersen has been cast adrift despite being England's leading run-scorer in all formats of the game.
He says he'll continue to play, but he deeply regrets it won't be for England.
