It's reported from France that the big-spending Top-14 rugby club Toulon have signed the sacked Wallabies star James O'Connor on a one-year deal.

The news was reportedly announced overnight by the club's wealthy president Mourad Boudjellal, and O'Connor will join Toulon after completing the current season with London Irish.

If O'Connor plays a fulll season in France he'll almost certainly be ruled out of the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

The 23-year-old utility back was dropped by Australia last September after an incident at Perth airport involving airline staff.
