Australia have slight advantage on day one of second test

The Australian cricketers had slightly the better of the opening day of the second test against against South Africa in Port Elizabeth with the home side ending the day on 214 for 5.

Australia picked up two late wickets including the day's top scorer Dean Elgar for 83. Elgar had been axed earlier this week from Cricket South Africa's central contract list, but he was called on to open the batting in place of Alviro Petersen who was ill.

The world's top-ranked batsman AB de Villiers is unbeaten on 51.

Australia won the opening test of the 3-match series.
