Windies beat Ireland in second T20

The West Indies have beaten Ireland by 11 runs in the second T20 cricket international at Sabina Park in Jamaica.

Victory for the Irish, following a famous six-wicket win on the same ground earlier in the week, would have given the Irish a first series win over a Test-playing nation.

But the West Indies scored 96 for nine off their 20 overs and then restricted Ireland to 85 for 8.

So, having gone so close, the Irish, coached by former West Indies batsman Phil Simmons, had to settle for a draw in the two-match series.

The West Indies and Ireland meet again in a one-off one-day international at the same ground on Monday, the last match of the Irish tour.

The West Indies defend their World Twenty20 title in Bangladesh next month.
