Fiery Steyn leads SA to crusing win

7:41 am on 24 February 2014

South Africa's demon bowler Dale Steyn produced a ferocious spell of fast bowling to inspire his side to a crushing 231-run victory over Australia in fading light on day four of the second cricket test in Port Elizabeth.

With rain predicted for the 5th and final day, Steyn sparked a rout with four wickets after Australia had started with an opening partnership of 126, chasing a record 448 for victory.

The Australian opener Chris Rogers' 107 was his third century in four tests, and fellow opener David Warner made 66, but the other 8 Australian batsmen contributed just 22 runs.

Earlier in the day South Africa's Hashim Amla achieved his 21st test century, unbeaten on 127 at the declaration.

The third and deciding test starts on Saturday night in Cape Town.
