Windies try to settle dispute ahead of Champions Trophy

The West Indies Cricket Board will be given until the latest possible moment to make changes to their Champions Trophy squad as they try to resolve a major contracts dispute with their leading players.

The ICC was forced to select another second string team for the premier one-day event starting in South Africa early next week, because of the protracted row.

There's a concern that the absence of big names such as skipper Chris Gayle and all-rounder Dwayne Bravo would tarnish the 50-overs tournament which will be tested for its relevance in the wake of the popularity of the Twenty20 format.
