French coach drops player for mocking ref

France's rugby coach Philippe Saint-Andre has dropped number eight Louis Picamoles from his squad to face Scotland this weekend because he showed a lack of respect towards referee Alain Rolland during last weekend's loss to Wales.

The Toulouse forward appeared to mockingly applaud Rolland then give him a thumbs-up after the Irish referee showed him a yellow card.

Saint-Andre reminded his players that certain attitudes on the pitch towards referees have no place in the game.

Meanwhile halfback Morgan Parra has been recalled for the Scotland game, although he faces a disciplinary hearing after receiving a red card for head-butting a Montpellier player at the weekend.

France are in a four-way tie at the top of the Six Nations table with Ireland, England and Wales.
