Mark Brown is the best placed of the New Zealand contingent after the opening round of the New Zealand Golf Open in Queenstown.
Playing on the Millbrook golf course, Brown shot a five under par 66, to be just one shot behind the leading Australian quartet of Andrew Dodt, Terry Pilkadaris, Jake Stirling and Scott Strange who all sit at six under par.
Brown was bogey free for his opening round and was particularly pleased with his putting.
