Breakers beaten in Cairns

The New Zealand Breakers will not play in the ANBL basketball play-offs this season.

The 3-time defending champions had their play-off hopes extinguished after suffering a 92-87 loss in Cairns last night.

The Breakers suffered from turnovers, and while the scores were level with a minute to play, they couldn't control the rebounds and were undone by the Taipans.

Tom Abercrombie top scored with 17 points.

The Breakers are 6th on the table and with a 10 and 15 record will finish the season with a losing record as they have only 3 games left.
