North Harbour have upset Auckland 16-14 to win the Battle of the Bridge at Eden Park.
The win is North Harbour's first since their opening round win over Canterbury. It means the Albany based side move from the bottom of the Air New Zealand Cup table, edging in front of Northland, who have a game in hand, and Counties Manukau.
Auckland would have made it in to the top four had they won.
In Napier Hawkes Bay kept alive their top four hopes with a bonus point 32-10 win over Otago. Magpies centre and captain Jason Shoemark starred scoring two tries.
