A new-look Melbourne Vixens line-up has made an impressive start to the Trans-Tasman Netball Championship, recording a comprehensive 58-34 win over the Northern Mystics.

37-year-old Cath Cox and live-wire goal attack Tegan Caldwell started the match strongly, giving the Vixens an early lead, although a sloppy start to the second quarter had coach Simone McKinnis bringing in the changes.

Karyn Bailey replaced Cox and showed real polish, hitting her first 15 shots on goal and ending the match with 28 goals from 33 attempts.

Caldwell finished with 21 from 28, and Cox shot nine goals from 14 attempts.

Goal shoot Maria Tutaia scored 16 goals from 27 attempts for the Mystics and Cathrine Latu had 15 from 20.
