Savage calls for 10-match ban for headbutting manager

Former Wales midfielder Robbie Savage is calling for a 10-match ban for Newcastle coach Alan Pardew after the Magpies manager headbutted Hull player David Meyler.

The incident occurred following a sideline confrontation during Newcastle's 4-1 away win.

The hot-headed manager has already been handed a $200,000 fine and formal warning by his club, but England football is investigating and there is no limit to the length of the ban the can impose.

Savage believes Newcastle should have sacked Pardew and says he shouldn't be allowed at the club's last ten games of the season.

Pardew has a history of touchline offences, he was given a two-game ban for pushing an assistant referee in 2012.
