Much expected of Pulse despite never having delivered

Despite never having made the semi finals, much is expected of the Wellington based Central Pulse when they begin their trans-Tasman netball competition against the reigning champions Adelaide in Porirua tonight.

The Pulse have signed veteran Silver Fern shooter Irene van Dyk in the off season along with England defender Ama Agbeze who returns after playing for the franchise in 2010.

That adds to the international experience they already have in Katrina Grant, Joline Henry, Paula Griffin, Liana Leota and Camilla Lees and former Silver Ferns coach Yvonne Willering is expecting the Pulse to be among the leading New Zealand teams.

The Pulse finished fifth last year their best result in the six years the competition has been running.

The've played Adelaide six times previously but managed only one win.
