Three senior Black Caps will continue to miss domestic cricket ahead of the side's departure for the World Twenty20 tournament on Saturday.
Although most of the 15-man squad will take part in tomorrow's second round of the domestic one-day competition, captain Brendon McCullum and seamer Tim Southee will still be rested.
Batsman Ross Taylor will also miss Central Districts' match against Auckland after being given time off to spend with his family following the birth of his son.
