The national women's cricketers have warmed up for the World Twenty20 tournament in Bangladesh by sweeping their home series against the West Indies women 5-0.

The White Ferns won the fifth and final T20 by 34 runs at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui today.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, captain Suzie Bates scored her second consecutive half century to lead the White Ferns to 124 for five, then the hosts restricted the West Indies to 90 all out with two balls remaining.

Sophie Devine was once again a force with the ball for the White Ferns, claiming figures of three for nine from 22 balls, while Bates was named player of the match and the series.

The victory gives the White Ferns a 4-0 Twenty20 series victory to go along with their 3-0 victory in the one day internationals.
