The All Whites Kosta Barbarouses scored in injury time as his Melbourne Victory boosted their A-League football finals credentials, with a scrappy 3-1 win over visitors Central Coast Mariners.
Barbarouses scored after a James Troisi penalty settled the contest. Jimmy Jeggo had put the Victory ahead before Zac Anderson equalised for the Mariners.
Though neither side played as if their name would be inscribed on the A-League trophy, the Victory's win earned them vital breathing space over their fellow finals aspirants.
