The Wellington Phoenix coach Ernie Merrick is confident they can still make the playoffs despite their 1-1 draw with the visiting Perth Glory keeping them eighth in the Australian A-League competition.
With five rounds to go, the Phoenix are on 27 points, three outside the top six cutoff - currently occupied by Central Coast on 30 points.
But Merrick's upbeat about the Phoenix's chances.
He says they have to go on a run of wins but they're not relying on anyone losing as they're playing the teams around them in the run-in to the finals.
The Phoenix travel to play new cellar dwellers, the Melbourne Heart, next up on Sunday, Merrick's men no doubt keen on revenge after their 5-0 humbling at home to the Heart last month.
Then it's Newcastle (seventh, 29 points) away, Adelaide (fifth, 30 points) at home, Sydney (fourth, 31 points) away and the Melbourne Victory (third, 33 points) at home to end the regular season.
