Shorter game should be okay for Breakers

7:11 am on 24 September 2009

There'll be a familiar look to the New Zealand Breakers lineup for tonight's opening match in the Australian National Basketball League, with most of last year's stars back on the roster.

But fans won't see quite as much of them as they did last season because games are now 40 minutes long, with 10 minute quarters, rather than the NBA duration of four 12 minute quarters.

Coach Andrej Lemanis says the full FIBA regulations make understanding how to counter a run of scoring more important, for players and for coaches.....

The Breakers play the Cairns Taipans at the North Shore Events Centre with tip off at 7.
