Pulse beat Mystics

12:37 pm on 17 March 2014

The Central Pulse netballers have scored their second win of the ANZ Championship and kept the Northern Mystics winless with a 53-47 victory in Auckland.

The Pulse led by eight points at three-quarter-time, but the home side came to life with a stirring final quarter, their best of the season, as they drew to within three goals but the Pulse held their nerve to keep the northerners at bay.

The experienced heads of Joline Henry and Donna Wilkins were immense for the Pulse, the evergreen Wilkins getting through a heavy workload to convert 28 goals form 31 attempts while Henry was often the architect of crucial turnover ball.

The Pulse are up to fourth on the table.

In other results, the West Coast Fever got their season underway with an emphatic 79-43 win over the Tactix in Perth.

The Canterbury side prop up the bottom of the table, below the Mystics on goal percentage.

Tonight the Waikato Bay of Plenty magic host the Southern Steel.
