New Zealand's top swimmer, Moss Burmester is keen to get his Commonwealth Games aspirations back on track.

Burmester will be in action at the New Zealand short course championships, which start on Sunday

Christchurch.

The Commonwealth Games gold medallist who placed fourth at the Beijing Olympics admits his Rome world championship campaign has been a speed bump in his otherwise continuous progress over the past five years.

He says the issues were a combination of the suit issue and a bad day at the office.

The meeting will be the final national open with the "shiny" suits with the new regulations coming into force on 1 January 1.
