Bulldogs thump Sharks in NRL

The Canterbury Bulldogs have comfortably put a heavily depleted Cronulla side to the sword, scoring a 42-4 win in their National Rugby League clash in Sydney.

The Sharks, who were missing Paul Gallen, Beau Ryan, Todd Carney and Jeff Robson due to injury in addition to the suspended Andrew Fifita, included three players making their NRL debuts in their 17-man squad and were no match for full-strength Bulldogs side.

The Bulldogs led 24-nil at half time and scored 7 tries.

The Cronulla coach Peter Sharp admitted his side was always going to face a difficult start to the season with so many senior players missing.

The Canterbury coach Des Hasler says he's pleased his side got back to winning ways after losing their opening round clash to Brisbane.
