Ireland and Zimbabwe secure wins at T20 World Cup

Ireland's beaten the United Arab Emirates by 21 runs via Duckworth-Lewis method in their World Twenty20 group match that twice plunged into darkness following a power failure

Ireland restricted UAE to 123-6, and were cruising at 101-3 in 14 overs when floodlights went off for the first time.

When play resumed, only two more deliveries could be bowled before another power failure hit the stadium.

To make it worse, rain followed and Ireland, then on 103-3 in 14.2 overs, were 21 runs ahead of the equation when the game was called off.

Zimbabwe kept alive their hopes of reaching the main draw stage needing a last ball six to pip Netherlands by five wickets.
