Australia's Adam Scott has blown his chance to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational and claim golf's world No.1 ranking.
Scott went into the final round with a three-shot lead, knowing victory would lift him above Tiger Woods to the top ranking.
But the Australian shot a four-over-par 76 to finish third, two shots behind winner Matt Every.
Every had a closing round 70 and won by a shot from fellow American Keegan Bradley.
Scott had five bogeys in his final round with just a single birdie.
