German clubs reject goalline technology

German football has decided not to introduce goalline technology after the clubs from the top two divisions voted against it.

The German champions Bayern Munich wanted to follow the English Premier League's lead and introduce it to the Bundesliga, but the top flight clubs in favour of its introduction fell short of the required two-thirds majority.

Goalline technology will be in use at the World Cup finals in Brazil in June and July.
