Shillingford cleared to resume international cricket

The West Indies off-spinner Shane Shillingford can resume his international career after the International Cricket Council cleared his bowling action.

The ICC has confirmed that following remedial work, an independent test has found his bowling action to be legal and he can now resume bowling in international cricket.

Shillingford was reported for a suspect action during the second Test against India in November and following analysis in Perth both his regular offspin delivery and his doosra were found to breach the 15-degree limit laid down by the ICC.

The findings came out during the Test series against New Zealand in December and Shillingford then returned to the Caribbean.

The ICC has confirmed Shillingford had been cleared to bowl his offbreak and arm-ball, but will not be allowed to deliver his doosra in international cricket because it is still illegal.
