Leuluai to play first Warriors game of 2014

The Warriors utility back Thomas Leuluai will make his first appearance of the year in Saturday's NRL rugby league match against the Wests Tigers in Wellington.

After playing every minute of the club's 24 matches last season, the 28-year-old veteran has been sidelined since picking up a groin injury during the Kiwis' failed Rugby League World Cup defence last year.

Leuluai has been named on the bench and will make his comeback at a ground where he made his NRL debut as a 17-year-old against the Bulldogs in 2003.

The Warriors starting lineup named is unchanged from the one used in last weekend's 20-16 win over the Cowboys.

The bench though will be minus back rower Feleti Mateo who's been ruled out with a knee injury, ending his run of 79 consecutive appearances since joining the Warriors in 2011.
