Windies beat bangladesh at World Cup

The defending champion West Indies cricketers have scored their first win at the Twenty20 World Cup in Bangladesh, beating the hosts by 73 runs.

The Windies, who were beaten by India in their first pool match, scored 171 for seven with the opening pair of Dwayne Smith and Chris Gayle putting on 97 for the first wicket. Smith finished on 72 and Gayle made 48.

Bangladesh then fell to 16 for three in reply before being dismissed for 98 with Samuel Badree taking four wickets.

The West Indies play Australia next, while Bangladesh play India.
