Melbourne skipper puts heat on Eels

The Melbourne captain Cameron Smith has used the traditional National Rugby League grand final breakfast to put the heat on Parramatta, declaring his side in better form than any of their previous premiership playoffs heading into Sunday's game.

As both sides sat on stage in front of more than 600 guests in Sydney this morning Smith warned the Eels how confident the Storm are heading into their fourth straight grand final after big wins over Brisbane and Manly in the preliminary finals.

Smith missed last year's grand final loss to Manly and is itching to make amends.

Meanwhile Eels skipper and former Kiwis captain Nathan Cayless remains in doubt for the match with a hamstring strain but is having physiotherapy four times a day, and will have a fitness test on Saturday.

Cayless was giving little away as to whether he thought he'd be right apart from saying the injury was improving.
