Spain goalkeeper Victor Valdes has suffered a serious injury and looks certain to miss the rest of the football season, and the World Cup.
The injury came as his Barcelona side won 3-0 over Celta Vigo, as Brazil star Neymar scored twice to give Barca a two-point lead over Real Madrid. Atletico Madrid lead by one point.
But Valdes suffered torn knee ligaments, though he may not have seen any game time for the World Cup holders anyway, with the incumbent Iker Casillas Fernández also the captain of Spain's national team.
