The former All Black winger Hosea Gear is shifting from France to Japan.
30-year-old Gear is leaving Toulouse after less than a year to join Japanese second division club Honda Heat.
Gear's departure from the four-time European champions has been an open secret for a few months but it was widely believed he would be returning to New Zealand in a bid to win a place in the All Blacks' squad for the 2015 World Cup.
The former Highlanders winger started 23 times in 27 games for Toulouse, scoring four tries.
