Wellington into one day cricket final

Wellington have qualified for the one day domestic cricket final against Northern Districts, after beating Canterbury in the preliminary final in Christchurch.

Batting first Canterbury made 238 for eight in their 50 overs, with allrounder Andrew Ellis top scoring with 81.

Wellington then chased down the target for the loss of just two wickets and with four overs to spare, with Stephen Murdoch top scoring with 80 not out.

The final is on Saturday at Mount Maunganui.
