Australia retains Champions Trophy

Australia's retained one day cricket's Champions Trophy with an emphatic six-wicket win over New Zealand in South Africa.

The Black Caps made a meagre 200 for nine at Centurion and Australia got there in the 46th over with opener Shane Watson hitting two sixes in a row to finish on 105.

Shane Bond and Kyle Mills quickly removed opener Tim Paine and skipper Ricky Ponting to have Australia six for two.

But any chance the Black Caps had of winning the trophy for the second time faded when wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum dropped Cameron White when Australia was 42 for two.

The underdog Black Caps suffered two big blows, one before the match and the other in the fourth over.

A hamstring injury during fielding drills ruled out skipper Dan Vettori, then his deputy McCullum was caught behind before he'd scored.
