The Australian V8s Super Car driver Mark Winterbottom has won the 200 kilometre feature race at the Winton 400 near Melbourne.

The Ford driver, who started the race in fourth, was followed across the line by James Courtney and Tim Slade in Holdens.

New Zealanders Scott McLaughlin and Fabian Coulthard, who started the race in first and third on the grid, were both penalised for speeding in the pit lane.

Coulthard finished 11th ahead of compatriot Shane van Gisbergen in 12th, while McLaughlin placed 16th.

It was first time McLaughlin started from pole position in the competition and the first pole for his Volvo team.

Van Gisbergen and Coulthard qualified second and third in their Holdens.

On Saturday, Coulthard and van Gisbergen came first and second in the opening race after qualifying at the front of the grid.

In the second race Coulthard again started from pole position next to McLaughlin.

Coulthard was beaten into third behind race winner Lee Holdsworth, while McLaughlin finished last.
